I personally know someone studying under one of these teachers, via a Chinese teacher who came through Korea. Teachers from other lineages, outside the linages named in teh book, do exist. It seems that Dong HaiChuan is probably the first prominent teacher to go public with instruction of the art, outside of secret lineages. The author's history of Ba Gua Zhang disagrees with other history of Ba Gua that I have discovered, namely that Ba Gua is a relatively new art founded by Dong HaiChuan in the 1800's after leaving a Daoist monestery. Info is still good, but if you remember the first half, there's a lot of repetition. There's a lot of repetition in the second half, as if several introductory articles were slotted in. It seems that Dong HaiChuan is probably the first promin The first half of the book is quite good. The first half of the book is quite good.
